It's that time of year again, a chill in the air, leaves turning bright yellow, red and orange, and the best cross town rivalry in the FCIAC, The Battle of Black Rock between your Fairfield Ludlowe Falcons and the Fairfield Warde Mustangs.
This year, you will be able to watch 5 games during "Warde Week" live on the Falcon Sports Network. FSN will have live games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, aired for your viewing pleasure.

Monday, 5:30pm: Boys Soccer - Ludlowe vs Staples
The week will get going with a HUGE boys soccer match up on Monday at 5:30. Ludlowe will host the number 3 team in the FCIAC, the Staples Wreckers. These two teams currently are separated by just 2 points in the FCIAC and this could end up being a tight one. Kickoff at Taft Field is at 5:30 and your FSN pregame show gets going around 5:25.

Tuesday, 6pm: Field Hockey - Ludlowe vs Warde
Our first Ludlowe-Warde game of the week will take place on Tuesday night as Ludlowe field hockey takes on the Warde Mustangs. Ludlowe took home the bragging rights last year on their home turf and Warde will surely be looking for revenge. In addition to all the usual hype, both teams this year are battling for key spots in the FCIAC playoffs. Warde currently holds the 8th seed with 9 points and a record of 4-5-1, and Ludlowe sits just 1 spot back with 8 points at 4-4. A loss in this matchup for either side could end their playoff hopes for the season while a win could end up being the deciding factor for that teams fait in the postseason.

Wednesday, 5:30pm: Boys Soccer - Ludlowe vs Warde
A hump day edition of one of the best boys soccer rivalries in the state will come your way Wednesday night as Ludlowe and Warde will square off in a matchup of two FCIAC playoff bound teams. Both teams are currently right in the heat of the battle, tied for 4th place with the Greenwich Cardinals. This matchup won't make or break any playoff dreams, but the looser may not get ideal seeding come playoff time.

Wednesday, 7pm: Girls Soccer - Ludlowe vs Warde
The second game of our Wednesday night doubleheader features yet another matchup with playoff implications. Ludlowe and Warde will meet in a girls soccer matchup that will likely decide who gets to stay in the playoff hunt. Ludlowe comes in bearing the 9 seed in the standings with 16 points on the year, one spot out of the playoffs. Warde sits just behind the Falcons with 14 points in 10th place. A loss for either team will likely end any hope of making the FCIAC playoffs. The last time these two met, it came down to a penalty kick, will the Falcons soar this year, or will it be mustang red on the female version of the Swedish Cup Trophy?

Friday, 6:30pm: Football - Ludlowe vs Montville
Were headed all the way to Oakdale, CT for Friday Night Football this week. The Cinderella story that is the Fairfield Ludlowe Falcons continues to shock the FCIAC, and will look to shock their first out of conference opponent this week.

Saturday, 11AM: Boys Soccer - Ludlowe vs Norwalk
We end "Warde Week" the same way we started it, boys soccer on the pitch. Ludlowe and Norwalk are two perennial powerhouses in the FCIAC that are battling for top seeding. Norwalk comes in with the 8 seed, the last team in the playoff picture, while Ludlowe comes in a comfortable fourth in the standings. It will be a morning dual in Norwalk that will have very heavy playoff implications.
