Colony Grill Team of the Week: Week #2

Another week, another Team of The Week here at FSN. Below are the nominees for the second Colony Grill Team of the Week. Voting ends at noon on Wednesday.

Football: There was plenty of doubt coming into the season about how Mitch Ross would fill the gaping hole left by one of the greatest classes of seniors in Ludlowe football history. However, four games into the season, the falcons have proven to be just as strong as they were a year ago. Friday night only helped that argument as Ludlowe marched to Testa Field and defeated Norwalk 43-42, the game score as a year ago, to move their record to 2-2. Senior James Bourque scored the game winning two point conversion with less than 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Boys Cross Country: The Falcons remain a top contender in the FCIAC, leading the east division at 10-2

Field Hockey: The runners up in our first team of the week poll are back for week two. They have won 3 of their last 5 and are currently in 8th place (With 8 points) in the FCIAC heading into a week in which they will play against two of the top five teams in the conference.

Girls Volleyball: The defending Team of the Week is back for more. Trailing two sets to none on Saturday against New Canaan, the falcons came surging back to win three straight sets, taking down the Rams and keeping their record perfect through nine games.

Friday Night Football: Fairfield Ludlowe vs Norwalk

Photo: Gregory Vasil/Hearst Connecticut Media
After one of their best showings of the year in week 3, Ludlowe football is back on the road for week 4 of the Connecticut HS football season as the falcons make the trip to Testa Field in Norwalk to visit the Norwalk High School bears. The falcons come in at 1-2 after dropping games to Darien and Fairfield Prep with a lone victory over Westhill in week 2. The bears come in at 2-1 with a 48-30 win over Trinity Catholic/Wright Tech, a 40-12 victory over Bridgeport Central and a 45-13 loss last week at the hands of the Greenwich Cardinals. Both teams will look to prove themselves to the FCIAC this week while at th same time avenging heartbreaking defeats from week 3.

FSN's coverage gets going at 6:50 with kickoff slated for 7pm.
